How Effective is Cool-phase?
As described, the main function of the COOL-PHASE® passive ventilation
system is to provide ventilation and each system, under automatic control,
each system will provide a volume flow rate of approximately 300m³/h, which
is sufficient to supply the fresh air requirements for 15 people. In addition to
this the system is capable of providing approximately 1kW of cooling, and will
provide a temperature differential in the region of 5°C.
In terms of power consumption, the system runs at a maximum 65W
(average 40W). With a maximum cooling capacity of 1kW, the Coefficient of
Performance (COP) equates to 15, which can be 5 times greater than that of
the most efficient AC systems.
Another positive factor is the low maintenance requirements, though the filter
may need to be cleaned roughly every 12 – 24 months, this can be done by
the end user without the need for a product specialist. The COOL-PHASE
also does not require expensive and time consuming yearly maintenance,
typically required by AC systems. Though the PCM will require replacing at
the end of its 10 year life span, this can easily be carried out utilising the
inbuilt pump.
